Race Countdown: Thanksgiving Day
8 A.M. Thursday, November 24th 2016

Dogs have always been welcome to participate in the Turkey Trot and we want your four-legged family members to have fun with us so please follow the DOG JOG rules. We appreciate your cooperation.

DOG JOG!   All dogs (and their humans!) will begin the Trot at approximately 8:15am or after all other participants have crossed the start line. (service dogs are exempt)  Dogs will be allowed on the 2 mile course only.  Please- no dogs on the 5 mile route. Any Trotters with a dog on the 5 mile course will have their timing chip voided and will jeopardize the future participation of all dogs.

With thousands of people and hundreds of dogs doing the Turkey Trot we need to have rules in place to not only provide a safe environment for our participants but for dogs as well.

Dogs do not need to be registered but we will have bandanas available for $5 cash or check at packet pick up and on race day if your pooch wants to dress up for the Trot!

There are lots of people, noises, and excitement so for the safety of your dog and others around you:

Please only bring dogs that are well-behaved and used to being around other dogs and people.
Dogs should be kept on leash that is shorter than 6 feet. No retractable leashes, which may be hazardous in a crowd.
Please clean up after your dog. Bags are available but you can bring your own.
Limit one dog per person.
Dogs should be at least 6 months old and up to date on vaccinations.
